LEADERS IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING LECTURE SERIES - SPRING 2008
GM R&D Activities: From Global to Personal
Lecturer: John A Cafeo - GM
Original Air Date: Friday, April 4th at 2:00pm
Abstract: The first half of this talk is a description of the global nature of GM and GMR&D. I will spend some time discussing the activities in the Vehicle Development Research Lab. Finally, the last part of the talk is a short discussion on three separate projects that I have been involved with: Modal Variation, Model Validation, and finally, the Variation Reduction Advisor. All of these projects have a common them around non-determinism even though they appear vastly different. My objective is for people to understand the global nature of business and R&D, to understand the breadth of activity at GM R&D, and finally to see some projects with a common theme that demonstrates how underlying interests lead to very different kinds of research activities.
