Vita
Dr. Han had served as a nuclear engineer at Pearl Harbor Naval shipyard from 1981 to 1987. He joined Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) at White Oak in 1987 and conducted research in underwater explosion and target interaction phenomena. In 1995 he became a program officer of the Office of Naval Research (ONR) to direct the US Navy’s research program in Mine Countermeasure (MCM) technology. In early 1998, he accepted an offer from the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory as a senior staff in the aero and thermal analysis group of the Air Defense Systems Department. In 2000, he returned to ONR as a detailee from the Johns Hopkins APL to manage the Future Naval Capabilities (FNC) in mine countermeasure programs. He joined University of Maryland Mechanical Engineering Department in February of 2005.
